Legislative Speaker Wang Jin-ping is back in Taiwan , his
return coming on the eve of a meeting of the KMT disciplinary committee, which
will consider his expulsion from the party for alleged inappropriate lobbying.
Surrounded by a hoard of reporters and hundreds of supporters who came to cheer him on, Wang emphatically denied the charges, and said he hopes the disciplinary committee will make its judgement based on fact.

I called Justice Minister Tseng Yung-fu and the chief of the High Prosecutors Office, Chen Shou-huang. My purpose was to remind the Ministry of Justice and the High Prosecutors Office that the law does not permit abusing one’s power to make an appeal. I never told them not to make an appeal. Therefore, the phone conversation between myself, Minister Tseng and chief prosecutor Chen does not amount to inappropriate lobbying.
